Description
The StarVie Metheora+ 2027 is a hybrid-shape racket for intermediate players who play a bit of everything, from defending off the back glass to finishing at the net. Its medium balance and medium-hard core keep it in the middle ground, so it doesn't lean hard toward control or toward power.
- Shape: Hybrid
- Weight: 350 to 370 g
- Balance: Medium
- Thickness: 38 mm
- Face: 12K Carbon Hyper, rough finish
- Core: M-EVA Balance, medium-hard
- Frame: Carbon
- Level: Intermediate
- Game type: Versatile
The face is 12K Carbon Hyper, which StarVie uses to widen the sweet spot and soften the feel at contact, so you get more room for error on shots struck away from the centre. It has a rough finish StarVie calls Spin Boost Tech that helps the ball grip when you add slice or topspin, plus a curved pattern of Reactive Holes meant to steady the racket and help ball exit.
Behind the face, the M-EVA Balance rubber is medium-hard. It's firmer than the soft S-EVA Flex foam StarVie puts in its control rackets and softer than the H-EVA Power foam in its attacking models. That middle density is what makes it a good fit for players who switch between defending and attacking in the same rally.
Two structural pieces sit inside the carbon frame. Precision Bridge reinforces the heart of the racket, and Core Axis runs through the profile to stiffen the frame, which together give a firmer, more stable hit. The Longer Handgrip gives you a little more handle to hold, and Z-Shock in the grip takes some of the vibration out of each impact.
If you want more control and a softer feel, the StarVie Phantom 2027 uses the same 12K Carbon Hyper face in a round shape with low balance and soft S-EVA Flex rubber. Players moving up to an advanced level can look at the Triton Balance+ 2027, which keeps the M-EVA Balance rubber but switches to a diamond shape and an 18K Carbon Hybrid face.
